A Windows laptop that can turn into an Android tablet with just a flip.

Laptops with a rotating display that transform into a tablet are not a new kind of device and have been around for several years already, but the Novero Solana has something different that make it unique. In fact, when in laptop mode this is a regular Atom powered Windows 7 device, but when the display is flipped the device switch to Android within seconds without losing data connections, be it 3G, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

[MWC12] Why isn’t Samsung launching new high-end devices?

Fresh of the success with the Galaxy S II, the company prefers to wait to unveil its successors.

Last year Samsung has announced two important devices at the Mobile World Congress, the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Tab 10.1. This year most people were expecting to see the Galaxy S III, but the company already said the new flagship won’t be at the booth, nor there will be any launch event in Barcelona. We don’t know the real reasons of this choice, but a speculation comes to mind.

[MWC12] Asus teases a third component for its Padfone: a keyboard dock?

The long awaited Padfone is finally ready to hit shelves, with a surprise.

We have been speaking about the Asus Padfone since last May’s Computex, and the device is finally arriving. Next Monday the company is going to host a press event in Barcelona, and to stimulate our curiosity a new teaser has just been released, showing that something un-announced will join the party. [MWC12] Another LG announce prior to the MWC opening: LG Optimus 4X HD

The first quad-core to be officially launched is an LG. Will it repeat the (in)success of the 2X?

In a rush of announces during the week preceding the Mobile World Congress, Korean manufacturer LG has announced yet another device, and this time it’s the first smartphone with a quad-core Tegra 3 CPU. The LG Optimus 4X HD is also the first LG device to be launched directly with Ice Cream Sandwich (really?), but there’s no word on its availability date.

[MWC12] HTC is the most talked about brand on the week prior to the event

Expectations of the upcoming HTC One Series drive Twitter talks.

The Mobile World Congress is just a few days away and the whole web, like us, is talking about what we might or might not see in the eight halls of the Fira de Barcelona. And according to anly.tk, a blog that makes Twitter analysis for events, the most talked brand in the past week is by far HTC, with a large margin over second-placed Samsung. Posts about the new HTC One line-up have been among the most shared on the popular social network.

The Japanese manufacturer is planning a comeback into the global market.

[MWC12] LG launches its new 3D smartphone, in Korea only though [Updated]

The Optimus 3D follow-up has been officially unveiled.

We’re just a few days from the Mobile World Congress, and LG is launching several new smartphones prior to the event itself. We have already seen the LG Optimus Vu and the full L-Series, and today the company made official the successor of last year’s Optimus 3D which is going to be retailed as LG Optimus 3D Cube. The handset is set to be released only in Korea, but there are good possibilities about a future launch in other markets too.
