Both Samsung devices are going to stay stuck with Gingerbread because of “hardware limitations”.

Bad news for all the owners of the Samsung Galaxy S: the Korean company has just announced that the device will not receive the update to the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich due to limited RAM and ROM. And this despite the Nexus S, which basically has the same hardware, is receiving the new firmware in these days. Similarly, the original Samsung Galaxy Tab will stay with Gingerbread.
Hard to believe these are real hardware limitations: both devices in fact feature a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and 2GB of ROM available to the user, much more than the Nexus One and HTC Desire (with only 150MB of ROM available) and of the many devices Sony Ericsson has confirmed to upgrade.
