[MWC12] Rumor: Huawei to introduce first quad-core smartphone and new tablet

The Chinese giant to anticipate all other players unveiling the first quad-core smartphone.

We told you before: you’ll hear a lot about Huawei in the next future. And after the launch of the Ascend P1 S at last month’s CES, we received news about a pair of new devices to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in less than two weeks.

In fact, via an internal Huawei document we found two new device names: Huawei Ascend D1 Q should be the first smartphone of the new Diamond family, where Q stands for quad-core. And MediaPad 10 will be the 10-inch successor of the current MediaPad.

With rumors about companies as Samsung and HTC not showing their first quad-cores at MWC, Huawei may beat everyone and be the first to do it. We’ll definitely know it for sure on February 26th, stay tuned for all news live from the Press Event the Chinese company will hold in Barcelona at 3:30pm CET.
